Makeup Studio ("the app") is a virtual makeup app for Android, published by Hugo Software. We collect no personal data whatsoever.

The app cannot go online

Makeup Studio ships without the Android internet permission. This is not a policy promise — it is a technical fact you can verify: the app declares no INTERNET permission, so the operating system will not allow it to open a network connection at all.

Everything the app does happens on your device. There is no server, no account, no sign-in and no cloud of any kind.

Your photos

You choose a photo through the Android system photo picker. That picker grants the app access to the single image you select, and nothing else — the app cannot browse your gallery.

The photo is edited in memory. Your original file is never modified. When you tap Export, the made-up copy is written to your device gallery using Android's MediaStore, and stays there on your device.

Since the app has no network access, your photos cannot be uploaded, backed up, transmitted or seen by us or anyone else.

Face detection is not facial recognition

To place lipstick on lips and eyeshadow on eyelids, the app needs to know where those features are. It locates them using a Google MediaPipe face mesh model bundled inside the app package and run entirely on your device.

This is feature detection, not identification. The app does not create, store or compare a faceprint or any other biometric template, and it cannot recognise who you are. The detected points exist in memory only while you are editing and are never saved to disk and never transmitted.

What is stored on your device

Only two things, both in the app's private storage:

1. My Looks — a local list of the images you exported: a small thumbnail file and a database row with a timestamp and file reference.
2. A single setting recording whether you have already seen the welcome screens.

Both are deleted when you delete the entry, clear the app's storage, or uninstall the app.

No ads, no analytics, no tracking

This version of Makeup Studio contains:

• no advertising SDK — no ads are shown and no advertising ID is read;
• no analytics SDK;
• no crash-reporting SDK;
• no tracking, no profiling, no third-party data sharing.

Should a future version introduce advertising, this policy will be updated before that version is released, and the app's Google Play data-safety declaration will be updated to match.

Permissions

The app requests no runtime permissions at all — no camera, no storage, no media, no location, no contacts. Picking a photo uses the system photo picker and saving uses MediaStore, neither of which requires a permission.

Payments

There are none. The app is free and contains no subscriptions and no in-app purchases.

Children

The app is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone.

Your rights

Privacy laws such as the GDPR and UK GDPR give you rights of access, correction, deletion and portability over personal data held about you. We hold no personal data about you at all, so there is nothing for us to disclose, correct or erase. See the data removal page.

Changes

We may update this policy as the app evolves. The current version is always available at this address.
